About AMHE-NY
The New York Chapter of the Association of Haitian Physicians Abroad (AMHE) is a 39 year old membership not-for-profit organization of over 1000 physicians of Haitian ancestry. We are represented in clinical practice and academia throughout the state of New York. The primary focus of the organization is to assist in meeting the health care needs of the community-at-large and to provide professional development opportunities for physicians.
The mission of the organization is to advocate for the community in health related matters; help the Haitian physician in the fulfillment of his/her professional and social life when needed; cultivate professional ties with the State University of Haiti; and contribute to the advancement of medicine and the betterment of public health in Haiti.

Trip to Haiti May 16-23, 2011
To the members of the executive committee (New York Chapter). In pursuing the academic program of the AMHE I was in Haiti from may 16 to the 23rd teaching another session of neurology at quisqueya university. I was very pleased thistime to be assisted by Dr. George, one of the physicians who attended this course 3 years ago.
According to our by-laws, 45 days prior to the convention, whomever is interested in any vacancy within the Central Executive Committee (CEC) should submit their intent by e-mail to Dr. Egel Francois at EF13@columbia.edu
